Since 1989, when he first left the familiar comforts of North America, Heath's travels have landed him in
over seventy countries. Eventually, he started documenting his travels with photographs.
Photographic Philosophy
As an avid amateur photographer Heath creates images that tell authentic stories of place. From the tense
eyes of a boy on a bus in Beijing to the colorful commotion of an ancient souq in Cairo to serene
reflections on the Montenegran Coast, Heath has an ability to draw viewers into brief moments around the
world. "I want viewers to experience a place the way I do. I want my audience to breathe in the inviting
fragrance of sweet potatoes roasting on a street vendor’s cart, to smell the heat from the metal workers
lathe as he finishes making a new lamp, to take in the aroma of fresh bread coming from the corner
bakery," states Heath of his photography, "because you really don’t know a place or even have a true
sense of place unless you experience the scents of a place."
Champion of Sustainable Business
Photography is an important vehicle for Heath to express his creative vision, but in his professional life he
spends his energy championing sustainable business practices. He contends that sustainability is not an
empty marketing campaign, nor must it be painful. Sustainable business strategies offer companies the
chance to build lasting enterprises while enhancing quality of life for all stakeholders. Experienced in
international marketing and foreign operations management, Heath brings his sensible sustainable
approach to companies around the globe.
Happily married with two kids, Heath currently resides in Munich, Germany. Stop by. He'd love to talk to
you over a beer about the Can Van or his passion for bikes.
